MOESIA INFERIOR, Dionysopolis. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ Pentassarion (26mm, 10.06 g, 11h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gordian III right, seen from behind, vis-à-vis draped bust of Serapis left, wearing modius, cornucopia at shoulder / Dionysos standing left, holding kantharos and thyrsos; panther at feet to left; E (mark of value) to right. Jekov 36; AMNG I, 391; SNG Copenhagen -; BMC 3; SNG Budapest -. VF, green patina with some hard earthen deposits.
